主讲人简介：

钟磊教授任教于香港中文大学，美国密歇根大学哲学博士，其主要研究领域是心灵哲学和道德哲学。他是当前分析哲学领域最有影响的华人学者之一，在Journal of Philosophy, Philosophy and Phenomenological Research等顶级哲学刊物发表十多篇论文，他关于心灵因果性的研究在国际哲学界引发诸多回应。

内容提要：

The problem of mental causation has afflicted non-reductionists for decades. In this lecture, I aim to argue that emergentism—the view that mental states can downwardly cause physical states in a non-overdetermining way—is the most plausible account of mental-physical causation. The emergentist approach is largely absent in contemporary philosophy of mind, because emergentism rejects the Causal Closure of Physics, a doctrine embraced by almost all physicalists (and also taken for granted in my previous work). However, this lecture will challenge the consensus on physical closure and meanwhile defend a physicalist version of emergentism.
